Awareness session: The ESA Whistleblowing System

This e-learning module which covers ESA's whistleblowing system is targeted at persons and entities external to ESA, specifically at industry.

It contains a 30-minute presentation which addresses the background of the ESA whistleblowing system and the dedicated ESA Policy on the Prevention, Detection and Investigation of Fraud that it builds on. The session describes the policy's main principles as well as the approach that ESA follows to tackle fraud, and more generally, to engage in financial misconduct prevention and fighting.

Topics covered include prevention and awareness, detection and reporting as well as the setting of a dedicated framework for investigation.

By following the module, participants will acquire a good understanding of the prevention measures, reporting mechanisms and detailed investigation procedures in place.

A quiz at the end of the module tests your knowledge and understanding of the content provided. Results are recorded in your Learning Hub user profile.

 

Objectives

The main objectives of the module are:

  • to make the Policy on the Prevention, Detection and Investigation of Fraud known to and applied by everyone working with ESA
  • to raise awareness about ESA’s whistleblowing system amongst the industrial community
  • to highight the importance of reporting any suspicions or occurrences of fraud inside or outside the Agency, including by persons and entities other than ESA staff members
