Awareness session: The ESA Whistleblowing System
This awareness session about ESA's whistleblowing system is targeted at persons and entities external to ESA, specifically at industry.
The 30-minute presentation addresses the background of the ESA whistleblowing system and the dedicated ESA Policy on the Prevention, Detection and Investigation of Fraud that it builds on.
It describes the policy's main principles as well as the approach that ESA follows to tackle fraud, and more generally, to engage in financial misconduct prevention and fighting.
Topics covered include prevention and awareness, detection and reporting as well as the setting of a dedicated framework for investigation.
By following the session, participants will acquire a good understanding of the prevention measures, reporting mechanisms and detailed investigation procedures in place.
The main objectives of the presentation are:
- to make the Policy on the Prevention, Detection and Investigation of Fraud known to and applied by everyone working with ESA
- to raise awareness about ESA’s whistleblowing system amongst the industrial community
- to highight the importance of reporting any suspicions or occurrences of fraud inside or outside the Agency, including by persons and entities other than ESA staff members
