SME Forum - Preparatory meeting (June 2022)
The SME Forum is an annual consultation process during which ESA invites SMEs and their associations to share their views and give feedback about topics which affect their work in the space sector.
Consolidated comments and reactions will feed into the next ESA High Level Forum as well as future considerations about the activities and policies of the Agency.
To gather contributions from Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME), ESA invites those SMEs active in the space sector to contribute to the discussion by attending a preparatory event on 8 June (09:30–12:30 CEST) and the SME Forum on 20 June (14:00–17:00 CEST). Both meetings will take place online.
To express your interest in contributing to the process and to sign up for the preparatory meeting on 8 June, please register here on the ESA Learning Hub.
In 2022, topics to be addressed will include:
- Challenges for industry in ESA programmes and the space market: impacts of the geopolitical situation and external factors (the war in Ukraine, COVID-19, scarcity of materials and components, supply chain issues and inflation)
- Commercialisation, New Space and fostering the space SME ecosystem
- Responsible procurement
- Other issues to be brought to the attention of the Agency
Representatives of SMEs from ESA Member States, Cooperating States and Associate States are invited to participate in this event on behalf of their company. To allow for an interactive discussion, one representative per company can join the preparatory event.
If additional time for preparations is required, a second meeting might be held on 14 June (09:30–12:30 CEST).
Please write to sme-office@esa.int in case you have registered but cannot attend the meeting.
