ECSS discipline Q-30 Dependability (September 2023)

Webinar
Description

The course will introduce to the audience the requirements for dependability assurance applicable to ESA projects and the related compliance processes.

The ECSS dependability policy for space projects is applied by implementing a dependability assurance programme, which comprises:

  • Identification of all technical risks with respect to functional needs which can lead to non-compliance with dependability requirements.
  • Application of analyses and design methods to ensure that dependability targets are met.
  • Optimization of the overall performance, cost and schedule.

The ECSS Q30 discipline contains the following standards, handbooks and technical memoranda:

  • ECSS-Q-ST-30C Rev.1 – Dependability
  • ECSS-Q-ST-30-02C – Failure modes, effects (and criticality) analysis (FMEA/FMECA)
  • ECSS-Q-ST-30-09C – Availability analysis
  • ECSS-Q-ST-30-11C Rev.1 – Derating – EEE components
  • ECSS-Q-HB-30-01A – Worst case analysis
  • ECSS-Q-HB-30-03A – Human dependability handbook
  • ECSS-Q-HB-30-08A – Components reliability data sources and their use
  • ECSS-Q-TM-30-12A – End-of-life parameter drifts – EEE components
