Patent claims dictate the scope of the monopoly of the patent document and are therefore extremely important. They are often, however, rather tricky to read and understand. In this class, we will show you how to review, interpret and understand the scope of patent claims from the claim language. This is, of course, an inexact science, however, there are a number of tips and tricks that we will provide that will assist you in interpreting patent literature in the future.
