The ground systems and operations staff are key elements of a space system and play an essential role in achieving mission success. The E-70 branch of ECSS covered in this lecture provides a process covering the definition, design, production, verification, validation, post-launch operations and post-operational activities of both ground segment and space segment elements. It also covers the timeline of a typical mission and the other ECSS documents available to support this activity area.

The objective of this session is to introduce an audience already familiar with ground systems and operations to the ECSS E-ST-70C standard.
