This is the third lecture in a series of nine online sessions about Intellectual Property (IP) and patents, strategic tools to be taken into consideration in a company's business decisions and strategy. The sessions will run in the November + December 2022 time frame.

In this session instructors will explain how readers should understand and interpret the claims of a patent.

Target Group

Companies wishing to understand how to interpret and understand the legal scope and relevance of patent claims.

 

Objectives

To provide attendees with an understanding of what a patent claim is and why it is significant. We will explore the significance of the terms used in claims, the types of claims and how claims are infringed. Attendees will learn how to determine if their product falls within the scope of a patent claim and also how it is possible to 'design around' a patent claim.
