This training course on Product Assurance in ESA Projects will take place on 24-26 October 2023 at ESA/ESTEC (Noordwijk, The Netherlands).

The course aims to provide the attendants an overview of the spacecraft structural design, analysis and verification process related to the ECSS Standards, Handbooks and other literature.

The following topics are covered:

The course will provide attendees with:

  • a basic understanding of key requirements in ECSS-E-ST-20-C and other E-20 series standards.
  • better familiarity with some of the E-20 standards, capability to assess e.g. RFDs or RFWs with proper knowledge of the underlying rationale.

 

The course is aimed at project system engineers and electrical architects.

The following main topics are addressed in the course:

  • Planning and implementation of a software product assurance programme
  • Software process assurance, including software dependability and safety, software reuse, software configuration management
  • Software verification and validation
  • Quality of the software products and processes, including quality models and metrication

 

This webinar, delivered in March 2023, covers the ECSS discipline U-10 Space Debris Mitigation.

The course provides participants with some basic knowledge about ESA space debris mitigation requirements and associated verification of compliance processes:

The curse will provide a high-level overview on the space thermal engineering field, interactions and impact of the TCS (thermal control subsystem) throughout a project lifecycle, and familiarity with the ECSS thermal control standard (E-31).
