ECSS discipline E-31 Thermal Control (May 2023)

Webinar
Description

The curse will provide a high-level overview on the space thermal engineering field, interactions and impact of the TCS (thermal control subsystem) throughout a project lifecycle, and familiarity with the ECSS thermal control standard (E-31).

Skills to be acquired at the course:

  • High level overview on the space thermal engineering field
  • Interaction and impact of the TCS (Thermal Control subsystem) throughout a project lifecycle
  • Getting familiarized with the thermal ECSS standard

The course will cover:

  • introduction and overview on the space thermal engineering discipline
  • interaction and impact of the TCS (thermal Control subsystem) throughout a project
  • lifecycle
  • introduction of the main requirements and main constraints
  • introduction to the ECSS Thermal Control standard:
  • terms & definitions
  • technical requirements (mission, performance, design, verification, etc.)
  • documentation requirements
  • tailoring the standard for projects

Objectives

The objectives of this course is to present the basics of ECSS-E-ST-31C Space Engineering – Thermal Control General Requirements and to familiarise the audience with this standard and its applicability to ESA space activities.
